hi frient and thanks for stopping by! I’m Sarah, a 20-something young professional living in Washington and creator, recipe developer, photographer and cannabis enthusiast behind this site.
I started Edibles Made Simple as a means to help new cannabis users create delicious edibles and feel confident in the kitchen. I understand that the cannabis industry can seem overwhelming to a new user. I want to give you a resource that cuts through all the bullshit to tell you the one thing you want to know: how to make some bomb ass edibles.
My hope is that, in addition to guiding you on your new journey, this blog helps change public perception of cannabis users. I am a real woman with a real life, and I’m among the other hundreds of thousands of cannabis users that lead successful and fulfilling lives.
If you’re new, welcome! I suggest hopping over to Cannabis 101 to learn some more about this wonderful plant, why we cook with it, and how to ensure you have the best experience possible.
In 2016 I started my first food blog Away from the Box, which focuses on a love of food and entertaining. It was, admittedly, a rough period of my life. I lived in a state where marijuana use was illegal and had chronic health issues.
I was obese. I was depressed. I didn’t see a way out.
In 2018 I decided I needed to do something about it. My husband and I sold everything we owned, packed up a few essentials and moved to Washington. With my first high, I finally realized the hype.
Cannabis completely changed my life.
It gave me an outside look at myself, reduced my pain and anxiety and motivated me to lose 90+ pounds.
That’s not even including the dozens of other conditions people live with every day, and thousands of other success stories involving cannabis. It is my belief that, used judiciously, it can improve and enrich everyone’s lives.
And it’s just a great, hangover-free way to wind down after work, amiright?
I still love food and entertaining and in addition to cooking and consuming cannabis, I like to hike, play video games, curate spotify playlists, and sip coffee on rainy mornings.
